Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about SHINDIG 16
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you certainly can. Just be respectful and clean up after your hound.
Are we having a potluck dinner Saturday night?
Indeed, we are. The potluck signup form is found here! Please fill it out so we know who's bringing what.
You don't have to participate, but it would be cool if you did.
Can I share my food/drink/wood/gear?
Absolutely. This camp is a about kindred spirits with our Monster Scouts, and we hope that stronger bonds are formed through your generosity.
Is free wood provided for the campfire pits?
No, it is not. If you want to have a fire, please bring some firewood. If every camp brought a single hardwood log, we'd probably have more than enough wood.
Our ability to have fire is of course dependent upon any state fire bans, and is beyond our control.
Does each campsite have electricity?
No, none have power. There is only power at the main ramada, which we can use for cooking, charging, etc.. Bring a surge protector to help with everyone's access.
Does each campsite have picnic tables?
No, the large campsite is a large, open area. The picnic tables are in the Ramada.
Are there any real Monster Medics available?
Well, there are folks with first aid training in our camp crew. As always, if you have a medical emergency, dial 911 and seek assistance.
What if it rains?
We're still in. Bring garbage bag for a impromptu poncho, or some umbrellas. Fun will be had, rain or shine.
Can I wander off of the designated trails?
The Rangers have indicated that this is not acceptable; please stay on trails, and don't get yourself lost.
Is alcohol okay?
Sure it is. But control yourself, Scout, and don't act all crazy. You are responsible for your own actions at SHINDIG. Underage drinking is not permitted, as you might expect.
Nah, not cool. We're pretty sure that you're all great folks, so we don't expect anyone to harass any other SHINDIG misfits. However, if you feel harassed, please let Dawna or Daniel know, so it can be handled.
What time does it end on Sunday?
We have to be gone by 11:00 am on Sunday. Please have your camp area spic and span by then or sooner.
